Secure a Safe Future for Mother and Daughter
Donation protected
We are trying to raise funds for legal fees for our friends' upcoming asylum case. They fought their way to the USA from Venezuela, fleeing widespread food and medicine shortages, government corruption, unemployment, and political repression. We met at church and bonded. Our daughters are the same age, as is myself and the mom. We both arrived in our community at the same time and were struggling to meet new people in a strange new place. Her daughter is only 13 and goes to school with our daughter. We were blessed to be present at her 1st Communion. It has been a long, scary, and painful process. They are settling into the community, learning English, and the mom has submitted for but not yet received her work visa. Unfortunately, just as the dust from uprooting their life seemed to be settling, they are at risk of being deported to a country where they can't access basic necessities. It's a scary situation for a mom seeking a better, safer life for her teen daughter.
