Hi there!
For those of you who do not know me and what I do, my name is Cameron and I have a strong passion for working with and training feral and unsocialized dogs. I started my journey in a municipal shelter where dogs like this were understandably euthanized as they involve extensive care and usually are not ready for adoption for at least a year. I started learning about these dogs and eventually (at that same shelter) was able to develop a method that pretty reliably helped them transition into more of a pet dog lifestyle and eventually led to adoption. I learned that these types of dogs just needed a special understanding as well as special people to take them in who were okay with a four-legged roommate rather than a pet.
Occasionally, I run into a dog that gives me a run for my money. Underdog Rescue has provided the perfect space for these dogs to thrive, but of course, they can’t stay at the rescue facility forever. That brings me to Miss Nori! Nori has been at our rescue facility for almost 3 years, and it is time for me to cut my losses. Nori and I have a relationship where she accepts grooming, medical care, and basic handling, but I have finally accepted that it isn’t worth it to keep pushing her to be tame. Someone is very interested in adopting her to live out her days on their very large acre property, but I am looking for financial help to help them build a secure fence for part of their property for her transition, as well as the adoption fee and gas money for the transport to get her to Northern Wyoming where she will be residing. This is not an easy task, and I am just looking to help in any way I can. Thank you very much for your donation as well as making this a more comfortable transition for Nori and her new family!
