Secure a Future: Green Card for a DACA Recipient
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Gema Valdez. I'm a 26-year-old Mexican immigrant who was brought to America as a baby and been living here ever since. I'm a barista working at a coffee shop where I make latte art and tasty coffee. I'm also currently in school after taking a break and trying to finish to become a detective. Being a detective has been a calling since I was a teenager. Criminal investigation shows have always intrigued me and I love the idea of solving mysteries and being helpful to the Los Angeles community I have lived in and loved my whole life. I love to play video games on my PS5 and hangout with my dog Lily.
Currently, I'm on DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and this is the way I'm able to work and go to school. I'm grateful for this program because it has given me the opportunity to work and help my family financially but I'm also at fear in this upcoming election that the program might be cut short or removed altogether. In August, I got married to my boyfriend of 8 years and want to finally start our lives together. We want to petition for a green card but we are unable to afford legal assistance at this time. Any support or guidance you can offer would be immensely appreciated, and I am deeply grateful for your time and consideration in reading this.
