My name is Arthur Secunda and I am upon completion of my book, "My Life in 3D." I am seeking funding in order to continue with my creativity. Initially of course I will benefit the credit, however the general public demand for the story of my life will obviously benefit from this, my third book following "Deja Vu" (A Catalogue Raisonne of my prints) in "From the Beginning," a book featuring 140 reproductions of monotypes based on the Old Testament.
My Life in 3D is a personal history featuring the long winding road as a New York artist going to France setting up a studio traveling and exhibiting in Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, his friendships along the way with writers Henry Miller, Lawrence Durrell, F.J. Temple, and many others. At 91 years old, Secunda figures he has spent about 45 years on earth in Europe, therefore, half his life has been European, along the way as he discusses many subjects in detail such as the women with whom he has lived and the great art that they have experienced.
The funds will be used to pay for the printing costs for 2,000 books, so the funds are needed immediately since the book has been completed and the final editing is taking place now. The plan is to use the same Chinese printing as "Deja Vu" because they have done a superb job in the past and working with them was simple. $10,000 is half the amount they charged for "Deja vu" which was 400 pages, whereas I am looking at a 200 page book for My Life in 3D.
At 91 years of age, I think this will be my last book which summarizes the roots of my creativity, my influences, and the final chapter will include my favorite paintings and the reasons why I selected them. The money raised through GoFundMe will be infinitely appreciated as they will carry on my legacy to further generations. I have so much gratitude for the life that I have lived and for the people that have supported me. The point is that I want to continue sharing the benefits of a creative life with others.
