The Story of the Bitten Locket
A 52 minute documentary film for theatrical release.

On August 10, 1942, in a small village in Poland, 1,600 Jewish residents were exterminated. Only 14 Jews living in the village miraculously escaped. My grandmother was among those 14; a secret she would carry with her to the grave at the age of 73.
It was only several months after her death that I started uncovering clues to my family’s harrowing past.

I have since been back to that village in Poland three times and have filmed eye-witness testimonies of that horrendous day. Months of inquiries in a remote area of Poland finally led me to the Polish family who had put their own lives in danger to hide my ancestors from the Nazis for two and a half years. The people who gave refuge to the Jews are referred to as the RIGHTEOUS. Meeting the surviving members of that family was a cathartic experience.

This is a story that must be told. But once again, the perpetrators are attempting to bury the truth. In February 2018, the Polish government enacted a law making it a crime “for anyone in any part of the world to accuse the Polish Nation of complicity in Nazi war crimes.”

It is up to us to speak the truth over and over again.  It is up to us to thwart such an egregious attempt at distorting history.

The family that saved my grandmother and many other Righteous families in Poland had the courage to do the right thing against all odds.
So must we.

WE NEED TO RAISE $50,000 USD to complete the production phase of this film. ALL DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO MAKING THE DOCUMENTARY.
