From the first serve to match point, it’s been an unforgettable journey — and we’ve officially wrapped filming on Second Serve!

What began as a heartfelt script about a washed-up tennis star getting one last shot at redemption (and fatherhood) has turned into a film we’re unbelievably proud of. Written and directed by Jamie Patterson (Tucked), starring Jamie Kenna (House of Dragons), Karl Davis (Happy Valley), and April Pearson (Skins), this is a warm, funny, and deeply human story about second chances, love, and finding the courage to step back onto the court.

WHAT’S NEXT

With filming wrapped, we’re heading into post-production — shaping performances, tightening rallies, and making sure every emotional beat lands as beautifully as it did on set. We can’t wait to share the finished film with you, and your support will help us smash the final leg over the net.

THE STORY

Freddy Roberts once made it to a Wimbledon semi-final, only to be humiliated by the rival who ended his career. Now divorced, broke, and living at the tennis club where he works, Freddy is a shadow of his former self. But when fate hands him the chance for a long-overdue rematch, the only person willing to train him is the one person who matters most: his daughter. Together, they’ll take on the past — and maybe win something far more important than a match.

This film has been powered by the incredible collaboration between Jump Start Productions and MetFilm School, bringing together over 40 students, graduates, and seasoned professionals. From first-time crew members to industry veterans, this team has poured heart, sweat, and more than a few laughs into every frame.
