Second Flight Books Sustainability

Donation protected
We have been closed to customers since March 16th out of concern for our customers, many of whom are high risk for Covid-19 due to their ages. Like a lot of small businesses, we have very small margins, and although our owner Laura is still shipping things out our online sales are not as high as in-store sales would be if we were open. We have a lot of retired customers who aren't as comfortable with shopping online, and we are truly missing out on that part of our business right now.

We are a community-focused bookstore, and we love doing events, but we have had to cancel or postpone several events that we already purchased books for. We have not been able to receive an abatement in rent (without extending our lease farther than we're currently comfortable doing).  We have a little bit of breathing room, but it will only last so long. Our rent, utilities, and payroll (for part-time employees) is around $4000 a month, and we'd love help with that. We will be applying for loans, but hope this will help us get by until those are (hopefully) approved.

If we raise $500 here, Quickbooks and their partners will help by matching that amount, so we are hoping to make at least that much in order to help keep the business afloat! #SmallBusinessRelief
