Second Double Lung Transplant for Lori Jo

Hi! Friends and Family of Lori Jo Williford are raising money so she can get on the transplant list for her SECOND double lung transplant. For those of you that don't know her, she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was 3 months old and has dealt with the disease her entire 32 years of life. She had her first double lung transplant on May 17, 2012, and this year is her 10-year Transplanniversary.

 

On December 25, 2021 (Christmas Day), she was admitted to VCU with what was thought to be pneumonia, but after a couple of weeks of treatment and no improvement, they transferred her to Duke where her transplant specialists are. It was determined she is suffering from chronic rejection and will need another double lung transplant.

 

To get on the transplant list, Lori Jo was told she needs $15,000 to show she will have the support needed after the transplant. The faster we raise these funds, the faster she will be on the transplant list, and the faster she will get the SECOND double lung transplant she so desperately needs.

 

She is currently still at Duke and will start rehab soon to gain the strength she needs for the transplant. She is doing her part, and now it's our turn to do ours. I know her tribe is large enough to get to the $15,000 goal. We did it once and we WILL do it again!
