Second chance for this little kitten

Yesterday (25-05-2025) we drove back to our house and on the dirtroad three hikers walked towards us and 20 meters behind them a small kitten followed them. The kitten didn’t look healthy so we stopped and my girlfriend (Lisa) took him from the ground and the hikers didn’t look at us but the kitten seemed in trouble. Lisa stepped in the car with the kitten and you immediately saw him (or her?) go to sleep mode because it didn’t have much energy. We live a bit hidden from the village and no neighbors closeby and since the 8 months we lived here never saw a cat on these roads. We gave some tuna and water and he did eat a little bit but his mouth looks bad so we contacted the animal hospital if we could come. We were already a bit worried this will going to be expensive but we felt like there is no choice, he needs help. At the animal hospital they scanned his little head (yes it’s a boy :) and indeed his jaw is broken and he needs surgery. The surgery will be performed today (26-05-2025). As coincidence can happen in life our dog Nelson also needed to go to the Animal hospital 3 weeks ago because he had poison in his body (he is better now). This was a €575 bill and the little kitten is now at €400 but there are some more bills to come (probably around €600). We don’t know if we keep him our find a new home. Nelson is now 6 months with us and he is a young dog who also needs a lot of guidance and our attention, and we are building very very hard on our homestead so another animal can be a bit to much. It also depends how our dogs (Nelson & Vi) will respond on him. From the donations we will hope to pay (a part of) the medical bills and if somehow we would raise more it will be for his toys/ food or a donation to a shelter. I wanted to share the bills here but I can only upload a few pictures so I decided to post only photos of the kitten. I will make a highlight on our Instagram and share the bills there (Quinta.ivonne). He doesn’t have a name btw, when the doctor asked us when we left him yesterday at night I told her “Mr expensive” but if the donators can help us with a better name ;)!
