Second Chance for Atasha

Donation protected

Hello! On the behalf of my cousins over in the Philippines, I've created this campaign to help in their goal to raise funds for our niece/sister/daughter, Atasha, who is in an ongoing battle with relapsed leukemia.

Her family needs all the help they can to help pay for her hospital stay, as well as the buildup of oncoming medical bills for her long-term treatment.

Any kind of help, even sharing this to those who can donate is deeply appreciated.

Here is her full story:

In March 31, 2015, Atasha Sabrina was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  She was 3 years old then. At a very young age, she undergone several sessions of various treatments like chemotherapies, blood transfusions, and intrathecal and lumbar puncture procedures to fight this deadly disease and to live a somewhat “normal life” enjoyed by most typical child.

For three years, she completed the various in- and out-patient treatments, and with God’s mercy and grace, she has WON THE BATTLE.

Atasha and her family are not financially privileged.  The three years medical treatment was made possible significantly thru loans from several individuals and disposal of properties of her parents and grandparents.  Close families and friends provided financial help, too.

In April 2018, she graduated with her chemotherapy sessions.  Her doctor has given her a GO to join regular classes in a school campus.  That was the first time she met and started gathering friends of her age. During these periods, her health is still the utmost priority.  Her monthly checkup continues, including bone marrow aspiration tests every three months in the first year, and every six months in the second year.

In April 7, 2020, after two years of being “normal”, her “old’ health condition relapsed.  This was the second biggest news that shocked her family.  She started being regular hospital guest again for blood transfusions, intrathecal and lumbar puncture procedures and chemotherapy sessions.

Given the two years breather in medical procedures and treatment was not sufficient for her family to recover financially.  Some of the loans during the first episode remains a loan until today.  But a LIFE belonging to a LOVE ONE is “everything” we should fight for even if it means losing our pride in the process.

I am asking people with big hearts to please, please help her family, financially, to continuously fight for her. Help us raise funds needed for her medical treatments and medications, and give her the GIFT to enjoy life with her family the longest time possible.

Recently, she was released from more than one-week confinement in a hospital in Cavite, Philippines due to stomach pain, very low blood count levels and severe infection.  Her treatments extend beyond curing her Relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia to Sepsis: Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Staphylococcus Aureus.  She was given 8 bags of combined leukoreduced blood and platelets, and her antibiotics alone costs $300 per day for seven days.

Please help Atasha get her second victory. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a big difference for her health.

Thank you for your kind-heartedness. God bless you.
