I want to first thank God for giving me a second chance at life. That is the most important gift I have been given.
On December 20, 2025, I experienced a medical emergency called Diabetic Ketoacidosis when I was found unresponsive at my apartment. I was transported to hospital immediately and my life changed in ways I never expected. During my 31-day hospital stay, I was intubated and put in an induced coma three times. I spent another 19 days in acute rehab, working hard every day to recover and adjust to my new reality. The emergency left me disabled, with loss of some mobility to my left side. Now I use a cane to walk, and have been facing a mountain of medical bills ever since. The journey has been challenging, both physically and emotionally, but I am determined to keep moving forward.
The financial impact has been overwhelming. The bills from my hospital stay and rehab are more than I can manage alone, and my disability has made it necessary for me to transfer to a first-floor apartment for accessibility and safety. The costs of moving, combined with my medical expenses, have created a situation where I need help from my community. Your support will go directly toward paying off these medical bills, and cover moving expenses. This will allow me to focus on physical therapy and rebuilding my life one day at a time.
I am truthfully grateful for anybody who took the time to read my story. I know that times are not easy, so anything—even the smallest support—I am so thankful for. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to me, and I hope my story inspires hope and compassion in others. Thank you for being part of my journey.
