Seckou Keita Foundation - Help us buy an ambulance

Donation protected
Why an ambulance?
Bagaya is a settlement in Southern Senegal with a small health centre. There are ambulances in neighbouring regions but it can take hours for them to arrive and is expensive, so pregnant women, children and other patients resort to using motorcycles to get to the nearest hospital, 19kms away. Two young people have recently lost their lives as emergency transport was not available. An ambulance owned and maintained by the Bagaya Health Centre will offer free emergency transport for the local community and save lives.

About the Seckou Keita Foundation
The Seckou Keita Foundation is an initiative established by griot, kora player, composer and singer, Seckou Keita. Seckou is from Senegal and has been based in the UK for almost 25 years. His Foundation aims to support families in need in Seckou's home country of Senegal in West Africa. The Seckou Keita Fan Club in Senegal are the ones who turn your donations into actions. They keep a close eye on local issues and make recommendations about where to focus our resources.
