Sebby's Final Journey: A Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hello everyone I do hope the new year is treating you well. I admit, it has been a rough start to the new year for me. Over the past few months I have noticed Sebby just wasn’t his normal self. He started to become more distant. Last time he was seen the vet asked me to change his food and put him on a diet. Aside from that he found nothing wrong. His blood work always came back normal but I knew something was not right. It was revealed late last week that my oldest son, Sebby has cancer.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been this guys daddy. Sebby has always been nothing but a ball of furry love. He was friends with everyone who came to visit. He’s also been my bestest friend ever and I have been truly blessed with almost 12 beautiful years with this guy.

I am not entirely certain how soon this will happen but he is slowing down, eating less and slightly distant so I imagine it is close. I have to be strong for him and do what’s right when this time comes.

I admit after getting sick on Christmas and coming to terms with what is happing that I have been a little distant myself. I am trying to process everything while being there for him and his needs. He’s getting lots of medication at this moment and that in itself is challenging.

Over the week of Christmas it became apparent something really bad was happening. He started getting sores all over his body including his paws and face. Upon being seen it was confirmed a few days later that it was cancer. A particular skin cancer that 90% of cats typically recover from but Sebby fell into the 10% that wouldn’t. It is fatal.

I am keeping him comfortable and loved until the time comes. I have looked into a service called A Gentle Farewell. They will come out to your home and make the transition calm, safe and comfortable, surrounded by love. He deserves this.

I will be doing a bake sale over the next two weeks to raise funds to cover this service. I’ll close out the gofundme soon and I kept the Venmo and cashapp open as well. You can only imagine how costly the vet bills have been. This bake sale will be for my Cleveland friends and family. I would consider shipping on any large orders out of town/state. And we could discuss the details over the phone m, email or text.

This weekends bake sale will showcase 1-2 cookie flavors. I can say with certainty that my chocolate chip cookies will be available. I will announce more details in the next few days. I will also disclose my west side location in another post but for anybody on the east side I will be available Friday & Saturday at home.

I thank everyone who has been involved in this journey. Your donations and kind thoughts helped Sebby get the care he needed. I’m heartbroken as you could imagine but again, I have to be strong for him. Thank You everyone and please keep Sebby in your thoughts.
