Dear Friends and Family,
My 17 year old son Sebastian, is an incredible young man, one with integrity, compassion and extreme intelligence. I couldn't ask for more in a son. While I take credit for much of his amazingness....LOL....he would not be who he is today with the invaluable education he has received from Sterne school over the past 6 years.
Sterne evoked the brilliance inside of him..where he was once challenged, he now embraces, appreciates and most importantly, excels in his education. This blessing I owe to Sterne School, its support and all that it has offered my son and family. I am proud to say, that now a junior, Sebastian has aspirations of becoming a doctor and pursuing a medical career.
As we continue through his junior year (2017), the ability to sustain his tuition and an opportunity to participate in a life changing academic-class trip has become extremely difficult to achieve. We must extend ourselves to friends and family for help and support.
Sterne offers an college credited experience this spring (March 2017), through the Sojourn to the Past program where students travel by plane to the south to learn first hand about the Civil Rights movement . Students will meet former activists, including senator John Lewis, and walk across the bridge in Selma to re-live the march that spurred the civil rights movement including the Voting rights act.
We have pulled together as a family to sustain these opportunites, by working extra jobs and sacrificing. But we cannot do it alone and must extend a hand to friends and family by asking for ANY donation possible to contibute towards Sebastian's educational path. We need to raise $5,000 to cover this semester's tuition, including the Sojoun to the Past academic opportunity.
