Sebastian’s travel to health
Donation protected
Hi my name is Mary Jo, my husband and I are raising money for Amanda and Joey to help their son.
Sebastian “Bash” Huggins-Hale is 6 months old with a complex heart condition. This was found out at his mother’s, Amanda Huggins’, 20-week ultrasound. Amanda had to travel to many doctors in order to continue with a normal pregnancy. It was said that Bash had complex heart condition, (CHD), after visiting many of these pediatricians and obstetricians. Bash also has a heart murmur which keeps his O2 levels at around 75-85%. Amanda was told that he would need heart surgery in the future. She then had to make a huge decision for this pregnancy, “in my mind there was only one option, have this baby and spoil it rotten.” She was certain that she could shower him with love regardless of the condition he had. She took every precaution to help Sebastian blossom inside and outside of her womb. She continued going to an OB and high-risk pediatric cardiologist, along with a urologist. Bash came 2 days earlier than her induction date. She had a normal birth which went well but Bash was quickly taken away to NICU so they could thoroughly evaluate him. After this, the echo came back that his heart looked the same and they would continue with the original diagnosis. They are going to the cardiologist September 15th to discuss Bash’s surgery. However, they need to transfer his records to a different facility to see if he is a “good candidate” for the heart repair. Bash will have his catheterization first and then will continue with an open-heart surgery after. This procedure (Glenn procedure) will be the first, then later he will have to undergo another called Fontan procedure. This will happen at 4-7 years old.
Since Bash is 6 months and will endure many procedures in the next several years, of which the 1st will be in the next couple months. This has been a devastating experience and has put this family through much turmoil. Along with financial difficulties, his mother is doing her best to provide for her other son as well. This GoFundMe is being created to hopefully draw attention to abnormalities in infants and raise money to help Amanda and Joey afford the many surgeries that their son will undergo and help them afford traveling to Boston and Vanderbilt for these intrusive procedures.
Anything would certainly be a blessing and will help Bash recover successfully as his time with CHD will be a long one.
