I'm a freelance humanitarian photographer and medical interpreter. 6 years ago I joined a group of artists for Art For Health benefit. Each year we participate in medical missions to Haiti and the Dominican Republic where we create art and document humanitarian work of medical personnel helping underprivileged communities.
Later on, artwork is being auctioned and all money goes to support next medical mission. During last 7 years, besides continuous medical help, we accomplished many successful projects; built clinics, wells, pharmacy, an orphanage to name few.
To go there, each of us uses our personal savings, vacation time etc. This year visual project, I am going to work on, a documentary movie needs more equipment and logistic help than I needed in the previous years.
All your donated money will be used towards expenses directly related to the documentary: missing parts of equipment, costs of local help, interpreters, transportation etc.
If I'm lucky and raise more than needed, all extra fund will be donated for medical needs (meds, supply etc)
I'm leaving on April 22nd and I hope for your help.
Images created in Haiti and DR not only help poor people by raising money but also by educating and informing about their needs and work that is being done over there by all those amazing doctors, nurses and everyone involved. We all work there for free, we all donate our time, resources and talent. But sometimes we need a little extra help-yours!
