Sebastian
Hello my name is Sebastian.
I was diagnosed with two types of brain cancer, Glioblastoma and Sarcoma, at the age of four.
At that time, I had surgery to remove the tumors. The doctors used titanium implants around my head to replace the missing bone in my skull from the tumors. I was required to undergo exhausting treatment with Radiation and Chemotherapy here in the United States, as well as in Peru, my home country.
After several years of treatment, I was finally able to live an almost normal life with my family and friends. I say almost, because my condition didn’t allow me to participate in contact sports since I have the Titanium implants around my head to protect me. It hurt because I would’ve loved to do Karate, soccer or any other contact sport but knew I couldn’t because of the potential to cause harm to my head.
Instead of athletics, I promised to give everything I had in my studies, so much so I continued to be named the top student in my class each year, gifting my family those nice achievements.
After about 10-12 years in remission, I woke up with nausea and a trembling left arm; and after the doctors conducted a few tests, i received the unfortunate news that I had stage IV cancer. This cancer introduced seizures that made me lose the mobility of my whole left side.
With my family we headed to a new challenge and we fought against it from 2020 till this date.
Initially, I prepared a video to get help for my college's tuition, but this week we received the hard news that the tumor has begun to grow again, which is reflected in the missing mobilty of my left arm.
The doctors gave me slim chances of life, but there is hope with alternative medicines such as the cancer vaccine in phase 1 and other medications that are not covered by the hospital, which would help me to continue fighting for my dreams and let me keep hugging my family.
This is why we are reaching out for help, we are hoping that with your kind contributions, I can continue my dreams in the United States.
I appreciate everyone who took the time out to read this. We fought this once many years ago and I know we will be able to fight it again. I know with your help that I have a bright future ahead of me.
Counting on you…….
