Sebastian came to The Turning Point as most of our "furry residents" do... Sometime in 2013, Sebastian "followed" a resident home from a Friday night Pathfinders meeting.
Knowing the"rule" that we don't take in stray animals, the residents and staff kept him safe over the weekend until I came in on Monday.... As I walked back to the annex with the staff on duty, thinking and probably saying, "we are not going to keep him; we can't take in every stray animal that finds us." I remember having such high resolve when I opened the door.... until I saw him, and I knew immediately that the universe had given us our newest "furry resident." I knew that he needed us.
Fast forward 9 years. Sebastian needs us again!
Over the last few weeks, he has been plagued with urinary tract infections. He has been to the vet several times, put on prescription urinary support food, and had multiple rounds of antibiotics. Unfortunately, none of it has helped. Despite our attempts to help him, he has a urinary blockage that is causing him pain. We won't know if it is treatable for a day or two. Until then, he will be staying the in the Pet Hospital, where they hope to be able to treat him
We have the first night of his hospital stay covered. Each additional night will need to be funded through donations. We anticipate needing approximately $3500 to cover the remainder of his treatment.
Sebastian has not been the easiest Cat to own... he is a tad bit willful. However, he is loved by so many and has provided and continues to provide unconditional love to our residents.
Please help if you can. Any amount makes a difference.
