Sebastian Lopez's Edge Mission

"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat." Hello, we are Conrad & Darlene Gehman and we are looking to raise funds for our adopted son, Sebastian Lopez and his dream to go on Global Tribes Outreach Edge program for young men. We would wish to fully support him but as we are returning missionaries with unexpected costs we are unable to at this time. Sebastian is an amazing young man and we have seen him become the man in the arena. He only makes $26 USD for an eight hour day and thus the dream for him to go on Edge is dependant on a miracle from God. Here is his heart:

Why do I want to go on Edge?

I am passionate about seeing God at work in the nations. I care about the hearts of others, especially the vulnerable and broken, those who need it the most. On Edge, I would like to grow in my walk with God and become the man and leader He wants me to be for myself, my family, and those around me. I want to develop and grow and use the things that I learn on Edge to further the kingdom of heaven. With Edge, I hope not only to develop leadership skills but also to look at my life story and expand my interpersonal skills.

I want my life to be a testimony of God's redemption, that it IS worth serving Jesus, and to encourage those around me. There is only one God who can save us and make us clean by the shedding of his blood on the cross. Praise the Lord for the power of the blood of Jesus!
