Sebastian is a curious, sweet, active 3 year-old boy. Typical in every way until his mom, Arabella, struggled to contain a persistent fever in July. After taking them to the emergency room, Arabella was shocked to hear the word "leukemia". Sebastian was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a fast-growing type of leukemia. Arabella immediately started him on chemotherapy, and the two spent nearly 3 weeks in the hospital in July and August. Now in his second round of chemo, Sebastian is proving to be a fighter and is tolerating treatement well, but his numbers are not moving as much as the doctors would like. This will be a long road for mom and son, and they need our help. Arabella has needed to quit her job to care full-time for Sebastian and is fighting to keep her house to maintain as much stability as possible. Sebastian is a loved little boy, and friends, family and his Rise school community are rallying behind Arabella to help in this fight.
