Sebastian Bello Lepe, UCL PhD student
Donation protected
We are currently fund raising to support the family and loved ones of Seb, a UCL Language and Cognition PhD student who died tragically on 25th December 2023 following an unprovoked and senseless attack in Madrid. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Seb was close to submitting his PhD. He was a much loved and valued member of our community, who will be remembered as a decent and warm person, with incredible drive and energy. He was very dedicated not only to his work but to other issues like social reform and support for people with disabilities. Seb’s kindness, wit and warmth brightened up our community
You can read Vitor Zimmerer’s personal tribute here
He leaves behind his family in Chile who have limited funds to cover essential bills relating to Seb’s return, funeral etc, and also his girlfriend in London who has rent to cover at such a distressing time.
A financial contribution from the academic community can’t bring Seb back but it will make a practical difference to those he loved.
We know that many people reading this won’t have much money to spare (if any) but even a couple of pounds will help.
Thank you so much in advance for your kindness and support.
Posted on behalf of everyone in Language and Cognition at UCL.
