Seb's Squad

"Incredibly stressed and disheartened by the medical assistance program through the state. This is the second year in a row that they have dropped Sebastian from his Insurnace. I’ve tried everything. Went to the Dept. of human services told me I need to apply for social security, dead end. Applied for social security for Sebastian and they told us our household income is too high. Dead end. 
I get the household income thing, really I do. But Sebastian needs multiple life sustaining machines, medications and other moving parts that the out of pocket cost for is ridiculous to be expected to pay for privately.

Tried to add Sebastian to his dads Insurnace, and it’s not open enrollment so they won’t start the application. Another Dead end.

I never try to look at the “dark” side of Sebastian’s life. But he can’t eat or breathe without a machine. He can’t see or hear, he has heart disease, underdeveloped lungs and a brain disease. At what point should household income get in the way of determining if he is or isn’t medically disabled?

I typically manage my stress and anxiety well but this has put me Over the edge and my ability to deal with all of this is at about 0%.

We aren’t those people who abuse the system. 
We aren’t suffering and struggling to make money. But we also can’t afford thousands of dollars in medical equipment every month either. ‍♀️

Because of this, cochlear implant surgery for this month is cancelled. He can’t get his eyelid operated on, and at some point he’s going to run out of travel oxygen which means god forbid there’s an emergency, we would have to call an ambulance to provide transportation and oxygen support. All without Insurnace. Not to mention at some point this month he’s also going to run out of feeding bags. ‍♀️

My heart hurts and I feel helpless. I literally don’t know how to help him or us right now."


The U.S. healthcare system isn't working to help our boy right now, so that's where we come in Seb's Squad!! Give any you can, every little bit helps!!! <3
