Hello, my name is Jihan King and I’m a rock musician (influences: Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, Rush, Soundgarden, Tool) with many years in the business. Going back to my origins as a classically trained cellist, my skills and interests evolved as guitar, bass guitar and vocals were eventually included. I am the bassist and lead vocalist in my current group as well as additional guitars.
Various projects took me through Los Angeles to New York, and down through the Austin Tx area accompanied by my father who is the co-founder of our current group as well as being responsible for igniting my love of music in the first place!
He is the guitarist and keyboardist of the group (influences: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Dream Theater), also with decades of experience perfecting his craft. Rounding out the roster is our drummer.
We have had to move our family (which includes members in need of caregiving), to Washington in the Pacific Northwest. It was quite a distance from the Midwest where we’re from, but also provided a suitable middle ground in which to settle them with a minimum of big city disruption.
The move was extensive, and took a considerable financial toll which brings us to this GoFundMe page. I was reluctant to go this route, as we have always managed on our own, but current circumstances deem it necessary to look for others who may be interested in helping me start up and grow this part of my journey.
To be clear, any donations will be used to assist someone who is a serious, full time professional touring musician and, together with my father who shares and instilled that work ethic and values in me, plan to take our group out and grow as quickly as possible!
Donations will be used for start up which includes remaining gear costs, rehearsal space, pre production/recording expenses, trademark/copyright costs and drummer fees as well as the settlement of previous financial obligations incurred.
The goal is today what it has always been, getting myself and my father the recording and touring deal and getting to WORK playing our material (I repeat, it IS Rock!) for all of you!!
