Seaton Repair Cafe was established in April 2024, and our first event open to the public was in July 2024.
We are committed to helping to develop a culture of repair, recycle and re-use wherever possible in our local community by providing a welcoming cafe-style environment where together, volunteer repairers and community members can repair personal and portable household items that would otherwise be discarded or replaced. We want to regenerate and spread knowledge and skills that are otherwise in danger of being lost in our modern throw-away society, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing waste and unnecessary demand for new items.
Seaton Repair Cafe is held on the second Saturday of the month at the Masonic Hall (behind John Wood & Co), Queen Street, Seaton.
Although we are run by unpaid volunteers we still need money to pay for things like hall hire, insurance, PAT testing equipment, etc.
So we'd be very grateful if you could spare a few pounds to support Seaton Repair Cafe. We can then help repair something for you and the local community.
