Donation protected
A group of Seaton Rangers ARLFC Ex players ,coaches & supporters will be doing a 110 mile bike ride on Saturday 27th July to raise funds for the Sick Chilldrens Trust and Archies Army .This charity is the chosen charity for Seaton Rangers 2024 season and we will be playing in a specially designed shirt for a NCL Game on the 29th June .This is one of many fundraisers to raise funds for this amazing charity.
Archie Routledge (Archie’s Army)is the son of ex seaton and Workington town player Mark Routledge.
Here's young Archie's story in his parents, Emma and Marks own words
"Archie suffers from hereditary pancreatitis, which unfortunately has now turned chronic, this resulted in some serious complications- he is now on 20 hour a day infusions and having not eaten since November he is fed via picc lines.
When Archie was hospitalised in November, we were told at this point no surgeon in the UK would touch him due to how severe the inflammation was inside.
We were told that Archie would need a Total Pancreatectomy with Islet Auto-Transplantation.
However this is not commissioned in children and we needed to gain access to the funding and a National
MDT board meeting to approve the operation.
It has been a fight to get Archie to an operable condition, alongside the operation approval and planning.
Archie will be the first child to recieve a TPIAT here at The Great North Childrens Hospital.
As you can imagine, we are anxiously awaiting this date and live in hope that this operation will enable him to get home and live his life free from pain".
The Sick Children's Trust is the charity that provides a welcoming 'Homes from Home' where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we're more than bricks and mortar, our friendly, caring staff are there to support families when they really need it.
Without us families would have to travel long distances, sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs or pay for expensive hotels just to be by their sick child's hospital bedside. Not only do we alleviate financial worries but we also help the mental wellbeing of the families we support.
We have ten 'Homes from Home' around England, supporting families from around the UK.
