Hello, my name is Rafaela Albuja, and I’m a professional squash player chasing my dream on the international tour.

I grew up thousands of miles away from Europe (where I am currently situated), and moving here was a leap of faith to dedicate my life to the sport I love. Last year I decided to start playing the professional tour, and I’ve worked tirelessly to improve my game, climbing to a career-high world ranking of HWR#177 in one season. My next big goal is to break into the Top 100 in the world for this season.

Professional squash is an amazing but challenging journey. We rely on personal funding and sponsorships to cover the essentials: tournament travel, flights, accommodation, training, coaching, and recovery. Competing internationally in the 2025–2026 season means I’ll need to travel across Europe and beyond to earn ranking points and continue building my career.
