Sean's Run for Refugees

Sean Byrne, of qathet Refugee Sponsorship (qRS) is going to run the entire Sunshine Coast Trail - almost 180kms - on Sept 4,2021.. The trail is over 8000 metres of elevation gain and loss (Everest is 8900) and will take him somewhere around 30+ hours.

He hopes to raise $5000 to put towards sponsoring a refugee family to come and live in Powell River. The total cost will be upwards of $20,000, so anything above and beyond our goal is appreciated! Costs to relocate and settle a refugee family incorporate rent, food, furnishings, and other expenses for the first 12 months after their arrival. 

qRS feels strongly that all refugees have the right to live in safety and freedom, and to have an opportunity to provide for their families and see their children attend schools. Please donate and share! Thanks for your support!
