Sean Don's Road to Tokyo 2021

Hey Everyone!

It's been quite some time since I've posted about my gofundme, and boy how things have changed since then! A lot has happened over the past couple years, of course due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it finally seems things are beginning to settle! Just one more month until the US Olympic Trials and two months until the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, excitement is really starting to build!

It's been a long, hard-fought battle over the past year and a half with the OTC shutting down for most of 2020, it led me to move up to LA for a few months to continue training at the highest level I could manage, and then finally a trip back home for the summer and fall to begin preseason training again. 'Normal' training finally resumed for me again in October of this past year, it was quite the relief to be back with my coach and teammates and have some legitimate training facilities once again.

Since then I've been training incredibly hard, the pandemic really helped me realize how grateful I was for my support system; all of the people I work with here on a day to day basis as well as all of my friends and family across the US. It was a tough year for me, for everyone truly, but motivation has been at an all-time high since being back.

Fast forward 8 months, and all the grind is starting to pay off! Normal competitions have resumed and I've finally been able to showcase all of the hard work I've put in, recently hitting a new personal best of 79.27/260'1", making me the 6th best American male hammer thrower in history! I've just finally started to hit my stride, giving me a big confidence boost headed into the Olympic Trials where I'll need to place top 3 to make the team. Momentum is finally rolling for me, and there's still more to come!

With the pandemic shutting a lot of things down over the past year, I've incurred a lot of extra expenses to related to training; extra travel, housing, equipment, and medical expenses to keep me on my feet and keep training as hard as I can with hopes of being the first american male to win an olympic medal in 25 years. So please, consider donating to my gofundme, any amount would be lovely! Or, at the very least, please give this page a share on your social media to help spread the word!

Once again, the support and kind words I've received from everyone in my life over the past year has been incredible, I don't know where I'd be without all of you! Here's to my best year of competition yet!!
