Hi everyone,
I'm writing to you today to share some news about my husband, Sean, and to ask for your support.
On Sunday, July 27th, while working as delivery driver, Sean had a sudden and unexpected medical emergency. He had a seizure while waiting for an order (we are so grateful he was not driving!). He was rushed to the emergency department, where doctors worked to stabilize him and assess the damage. The fall resulted in four brain bleeds (two subdural and two subarachnoid), and a skull fracture.
Thankfully, Sean has been home over a week now and recovery is going smoothly, but the road ahead is long, and the cause is still uncertain.
Due to state law, Sean is unable to drive for the next three months. This means he cannot work his job as a delivery driver, which is his primary source of income. He is also on anti-seizure medication and has multiple follow-up appointments with neurologists and a neurosurgeon to monitor his brain bleeds and skull fracture. We are hoping the bleeds will heal on their own, but there is a possibility that he may need surgery. He is also being closely monitored by his primary care physician to ensure his overall health is improving.
This has been a terrifying and challenging time for our family. My mother-in-law, Marlys, and I drove six and a half hours back to Lincoln from Oklahoma, as soon as we heard the news, filled with fear and worry, postponing our much anticipated vacation to rush to Sean’s side on the 27th. Getting that call while two states away was the most frightening experience we have ever had.
With everything that has happened, we are facing significant financial strain due to the lost income and the unexpected medical expenses and continued monitoring he will need over the next six months.
We have set up this GoFundMe to help cover our household expenses, medical bills, and to make up for the lost income while Sean is unable to work. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and help us navigate this difficult time with a little less stress.
Your thoughts, prayers, and support mean the world to us. Thank you for being a part of our community.
With love,
Milla & the Jones Family
