Sean’s Road to Recovery After a Devastating Accident

On the evening of April 3rd, 2025, Sean Fields was walking home from a quick trip to the corner store in Astoria, Oregon. Just one block from his apartment, while crossing at a marked crosswalk, Sean was struck by a Honda Pilot traveling 40 mph. The impact threw him 30 feet through the air.

Though the driver remained at the scene, but did not call for help or offer aid. It was a nearby neighbor who witnessed the horrifying scene and immediately called 911—likely saving Sean’s life.

Sean was rushed to the trauma unit at Columbia Memorial Hospital, where doctors fought to stabilize him. His injuries were severe: a severed artery in his head, a broken arm, fractures in his right foot, deep road rash, and widespread bruising. First responders and trauma staff were stunned that he survived.

But we know why he did: God intervened with power and mercy.

Through the prayers of many and the steadfast love of our Lord, Sean began to recover. There is no medical explanation for how he survived such a violent hit or has healed as quickly as he has—only the mighty hand of God. Though still in immense pain, Sean was discharged from the hospital to continue recovering at home.

Sean’s wife, DeAnna, is doing all she can to care for him while also working increased hours just to keep up. Both she and Sean have exhausted their paid time off, and now they’re falling behind on rent, utilities, and medical bills. The financial burden is becoming more than they can bear alone.

That’s why we’re asking for your help. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover:

• Medical bills and ongoing treatment

• Rent, utilities, and daily living costs

• Travel expenses to appointments and specialists

• Relief for DeAnna so she can keep caring for Sean

Sean is a humble, hard-working, God-fearing man. His miraculous survival is a testimony to the power and goodness of God. Their local church has prayed and supported them, but they still need more help to get through this valley.
