Sean's Journey: A Call for Hope, Healing, and Help
Calling in all favors. Some of you may know, but many might not be aware of what’s been happening. This past June, Sean spent two weeks in the hospital and another week recovering at home. He was diagnosed with acute kidney failure, and despite seeking second opinions through the University of Michigan, no clear cause has been found.
Sean is now classified as having End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), which is a terminal diagnosis. He undergoes dialysis three times a week, with two sessions happening before he heads to work. Dialysis will remain a permanent part of his life unless he receives a kidney transplant.
Sean is officially on the transplant list, and a living donor offers the best chance for a long-lasting organ. The wait time for an O blood type kidney in Michigan is roughly five years, but a living donor could significantly reduce that. Thankfully, every other health check shows that Sean is in great shape (#otherwisehealthy), making him an excellent candidate for a transplant.
Sean continues to work full time while managing dialysis and stays active in the kids’ school activities. He’s returning as the coach for the 7th-grade girls’ team and remains a dedicated volunteer, including serving as the auction emcee in recent years.
If you’re willing to learn more or get tested to see if you’re a match, please reach out to Sean or me for more information. There’s no obligation—just exploring the option helps immensely. For more details about kidney donation, visit: www.beaumont.org/conditions/becoming-a-kidney-donor

Additionally, if donating a kidney isn’t possible, financial help is just as valuable. Dialysis costs are enormous every month, and any support in covering these expenses would be greatly appreciated.**
Thank you for your support!
