Sean's Funeral and Life Celebration

Hello and thank you to all that read this.

My name is Seana, named for and after my Dad.

This is really difficult for me to write and I struggle to really put into words what an incredible person my Dad is, how much of a privilege it is to be his daughter and how grateful I am to be a part of his story...

I lost my Dad on the 22nd of December 2021 when the terminal cancer he was fighting took his life and I still can't really believe he is gone from this world, so I am sorry if these words don't do justice to him or our circumstances.

I am my Dad's only child and he never met a partner to share his life with. He was the most dedicated Dad and it was me and him always.

My Dad was given his diagnosis 8 weeks prior to his death, at the end of October. It was the most shocking and horrific news for both of us, yet my Dad was able to look at it with acceptance and optimism (as he did with any difficulty or trauma life threw his way) and focus on the time we had left together and memories we could create. Both me and Dad knew instantly the biggest memory we wanted to share was him giving me away at my wedding.

Miraculously, the time given from his diagnosis meant me and my now husband Johnny were able to pull together a wedding ceremony (on a shoe string budget) for all our closest family members on the 7th of December... so that my Dad was able to walk me down the aisle and give me away. This was the most special day of my life and I am so thankful my Dad was there to watch and steady me through yet another milestone as he had done so many times before throughout my life.

My Dad was probably one of the most hard working men you could ever come across and since the age of 12 had been in the working world, with no breaks in employment. As an adult he got up every morning at 5am and worked tirelessly as a painter & decorator. Despite how hard he worked my Dad never had much money to his name but he still spent whatever he had when I was growing up on moments and adventures for us to experience together and these memories are treasured and priceless to me. He was an unwavering and constant Father who put me before anything else in his life and the joy and laughter we shared was endless.

Unfortunately, due to the speed of which he was taken away from me, the built up costs of the wedding and my Dad not being in a position to leave any money to cover funeral costs, myself and those most important to my Dad find ourselves in a difficult position where we are trying to fund a ceremony to honor my Dad the way he hoped to be but are not in a financial position to do so.

This is why I am looking to raise funds to pay for my Dads funeral and give him the proper send off he really deserves. The funeral is planned to take place on the 14th of January 2022 and we also plan to celebrate his life further on his birthday on the 2nd of February where we will scatter his ashes and light up the sky with fireworks in his memory.

Any contribution no matter how small will be appreciated and any excess funds we accumulate will be given to charity in Dad's name, as giving to others was a huge part of who he was and is. Some of the charities close to Dad's heart who he dedicated time and money to were Children's with Cancer and Leukemia Group, Macmillan Cancer Support, Dorothy House and various Wiltshire Soup Kitchen projects.

Thank you endlessly for taking time to read about my Dad and for any contributions, no matter how small.
