Seán is participating in multiple fundraising events to help support the Ard Scoil Ris Zambian Immersion Project 2026. The project is a life changing opportunity to travel to Zambia and work directly with local communities there. Every euro counts and any donation will help make this experience possible for both the students traveling and the communities they aim to serve.

While in Zambia, the group will work in the Cheshire Home for Disabled Children. Here, students will assist in providing basic education for children aged 4 to 18 and observe and support the physiotherapy carried out with residents. In Limilunga, a village located about 10km north of Mongu, the group will assist with classroom education, painting school facilities, and visiting children’s homes.

During their two weeks in Zambia, students will also spend a day in a local high school, gaining first-hand insight into education in Zambia and deepening their understanding of global inequality. In the final days, the group will visit a farm project supported by Irish government aid and Ardscoil Rís. There, they will meet local farmers trained in sustainable farming practices, animal husbandry, and efficient crop cultivation, essential skills in the face of climate change and local water shortages.

This initiative is entirely self-funded and presents a significant financial challenge for students.

· Zambian People: Supplying food, healthcare items, and medicines for vulnerable older adults.

· Farm Projects: Funding equipment and training to promote sustainable agricultural practices.

· Student Participation: Supporting travel and accommodation costs so all students can take part, bringing joy and fun to the children and older members of the Zambian community.
