A little history:
My Father died of a Brain Tumor at my current age.
One year ago I learned that love at first sight is possible. I met and was soon engaged to my fiancé, Brianna Ganser; we are eagerly awaiting the wedding date, 4.9.16, and to start a family.
Four months ago I lost consciousness on the freeway and hit a construction tractor at 80 MPH. A hospital visit revealed a Colloid Cyst (Brain Tumor); we were told not to worry. I healed for six weeks then returned to work.
Two months ago the above accident happened again! I was immediately admitted to the hospital where a large team was assigned to assess my condition and conduct every possible test. Unfortunately, the outcome is the Tumor needs to come out.
The Colloid cyst is a Tumor located in the center of the brain that effects 1 in 3 million people and is only 1 of 2 conditions that will result in immediate death if not removed (don't want that to happen). Because of its rarity there are only two surgeons in the U.S. who routinely perform this procedure. The surgeon is the MOST important part of the equation. If done incorrectly, the results can be devastating.
We have spent our savings on medical bills so far and do not expect to get "funded" by this approach, but we just hope for some of our Wedding Guests and Friends to forgo the traditional gifts and donate or SHARE, SHARE, SHARE and LIKE our story on Facebook to help us with this "small problem" so we can get this behind us and continue on enjoying our family, friends and the family that Brianna and I are planning to have.
As our wedding approaches, 4.9.16, we ask our family and friends to look past the registry so we can get the best care and finally get on with our lives.
(If you know me, you might know that I am down playing what is going on. I'm writing this with Brianna worried and writing lesson plans beside me. Again, if not done correctly, the outcomes are devastating. The thought of leaving my new Wife and kids (to be) alone reminds me of my childhood, and I don't know how to put this into words. My last sentence: This is curable; we have insurance; it is incredibly expensive, including deductibles; recovery is expected to be approximately one year. That is it....)
Thank you. Sean Riegal and Brianna Ganser (soon to be Riegal!)
