Sean Dudas Comeback Campaign
Help Sean Dudas Turn A Serious Setback Into A Complete Comeback From A Brain Injury
As many of you know, Sean graduated from Hastings Law School in May of 2015. Just six months later he suffered an accidental traumatic brain injury and seizure that left him hospitalized.
He has since been unable to live independently due to his Post Concussion Syndrome, PTSD , Visual Disorders and Mild Neurocognitive Disorder.
Sean now lives with issues that affect his balance, cognition , speech visual disturbances and severe memory and cognitive impairments . Behavioral and personality changes have affected Sean's emotional health.
What has not changed is Sean's determination and love for life.
Sean has come a long way and is grateful for the care and support he has had from people like you -family, friends and community members who have lent a hand to make Sean's progress possible.
There are many challenges
After 10 months of navigating an insurance nightmare maze , his amazing Mom, Darleen, was finally able to get him into a Cognitive Neuro Rehabilitation program at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
Sean's full neuro-rehab program now includes:
Physical therapy
Occupational therapy
Speech and language therapy
Psychiatric Therapy
With Sean’s current limitations, it can take him up to 3 hours to make a one way trip from his home in Richmond to San Francisco using public transportation. He has appointments 2 - 4 days a week.
This is very fatiguing and Sean experiences pain if he is standing for too long a time. Even arrriving for a 9am appointment is really rough!
His schedule changes every two weeks making it impossible for his family and great girlfriend Liza to provide transportaion, due to their own work schedules.
Every appointment is essential for Sean's recovery and we want to help him arrive at his appointments ready for the hard work ahead.
In addition to what is covered by insurance, Sean has medical expenses that are not covered . There are additonal treatments that he has been unable to pursue due to cost.
Here's how we can help:
Having funds for transportation will mean Sean can get himself to every appointment .
Having the funds to hire a driver will provide him with much needed independence .
Having funds to access to additional therapies will speed up his recovery.
