My name is Billy Pena. Sean Courter has been a very close friend of mine for 26 years. Sean Courter was a Kearny Resident who was a Public Servent to the community. Sean graduated Kean University and there after went to the academy to become a State Correction Officer in Rahway State Prison for 3 years. Sean then went back to the academy to become a NJ Police Officer For the Bloomfield Police Department . In servicing Bloomfield for about 7 years Sean was recognized with many awards and recognition in protecting the community.
Sean Courter just got sentenced for a crime that involves a 5 YEAR sentence without good behavior. He did NOT injur NOR killed ANYONE.
He is serving his sentence for what he did ;HOWEVER , his family is also paying for it to ... His kids will not be able to share the MOMENTS of birthdays, Christmas , sports and schools accomplishments , the hugs & kisses that EVERY CHILD NEEDS from a father . As a WOMEN : no women should have to struggle with 3 kids and no current job skills because Sean never wanted his wife to work because he wanted her with their kids .
Sean Courter was the primary income provider for his stay at home wife who mothers 3 small children as he served the community as a police officer. Sean worked many long hours in the field protecting the public by putting his safety at risk 6 days a week and sometimes even 7 days a week so he can provide a home for his FAMILY . Sean knew that children that lived in a home would provide comfort , confidence, and safety for his wife and children.
It is not easy to be a POLICE OFFICER ! They are REGULAR PEOPLE who are just as scared as any other person ; scared if they will see their loved ones after their working shifts.
$5,000 is not enough to provide a family of FOUR for the next FIVE YEARS ; however, it would help for food, shelter, clothes, child care, car insurance so his wife can go to work and other living EXPENSES.
Anyone that knows Sean Courter knows that he is a LOVING AND CARING : father, husband, son, friend, brother, co worker , and human being.
Any help that you can give the COURTER family would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!
