BLOOMSBURG — A Bloomsburg University student was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries Saturday night after he was struck by a motorcycle traveling Lightstreet Road toward the downtown, police said.
After striking a young man who was attempting to cross Lightstreet Road near 395 Lightstreet Road just before 7 p.m., the motorcycle traveled about six car lengths before the rider “flew off” the motorcycle and struck a white Toyota Camry parked in front of 387 Lightstreet Road, witnesses said. The force of the impact knocked the rear bumper off the Camry and sent it tumbling to the front porch at 387 Lightstreet Road. Bloomsburg Police Officer Brad Sharrow described the motorcyclist’s injuries as serious, adding that both the motorcyclist and the severely injured pedestrian were taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
PLEASE HELP me raise funds for Sean Sears and his family's immediate needs. Sean is a Senior, on the Deans List, majoring in Digital Forensics. The next two-three days are critical while the neurosurgeons and other emergency staff access his injuries. Due to covid, visits to the ICU in Danville are limited to two hours, twice a day. T he family will need assistance with travel expenses over the next few weeks while their sons is in the hospital and then potential months of rehabilitation for his injuries.
If you know this family, you know the other health issue they are facing, and you know their incredible kindness to all others and how they give to the community. Every dollar will help.
