My name is Sean Orr, and I’m a Vancouver City Councillor with COPE. On February 6, Mayor Ken Sim lied about me publicly, bringing serious harm to my reputation and damaging my ability to serve the public who elected me. Over the past weeks he has failed to provide any reasonable explanation for his actions – harming our city and undermining public trust in the mayor. Until now, Ken Sim has yet to face consequences. With your help, I plan to change that. This morning, I sued Ken Sim in BC Supreme Court.
I’ll fight this to the end, and I need your help. Lawsuits are expensive. Many people know that I wasn’t elected as a wealthy man with powerful friends. But the outpouring of support I’ve received reminds me that I do have you. After all, Ken Sim isn’t doing this just because I’m one of his most vocal critics, but because he’s threatened by you. If you’re reading this, there is a good chance you’re part the movement of people who elected me: renters, workers, and everyone else who feels left behind and undignified by Sim’s ABC and their policies.
If you can’t give me much at this time, I ask that you give $16 (the number of times he tried to apologize). If you can give more, please give more. Each dollar you give is a message to Ken and all his friends that taking advantage of Vancouver will lead to consequences. Costly ones.
This fundraiser is organized on behalf of Sean Orr by Vyas Saran. We set this fundraising goal so that the lawsuit can get off the ground, and we hope to increase it as we go along. The funds will go to costs associated with paying lawyer fees and disbursements as needed. No funds will be distributed to COPE, though we do encourage everyone who wants to support Sean’s momentum going towards the October 2026 election to get involved and offer your support.
