What is it that makes a man? It’s not the amount of money or wealth that he has. It’s not the amount of material things that reflects a mans status in life. It’s not the amount of power that he has over others.
What makes a man is his ability to love unconditionally. His ability to have the patience to teach and share his knowledge for the better. His ability to not pass judgment and see the good in everyone. His ability to bring people together because together we are stronger. His ability to see the beauty in every aspect of life. His ability to give far more than he ever would take. His ability to provide for his family and people in need.
These are all things my father was, and so much more. Words cannot fully describe the man he was, but for those of you who had the pleasure of meeting and befriending him, you know exactly what I mean. My heart hurts that he is no longer physically here, but I know that if I just listen to the wind and the waves I will hear him answer when I call.
We have lost a great man, but he lives on in every person that he touched in his life! He’s left behind a legacy that most men dream of and I want to see it carry on.
We need your help to do this. In order to assist with the challenging end-of-life costs, as well as the financial burden of recovering his boat, we humbly ask that you lend us your support in this trying time.
Thank you,
Hans Elliott Petaja and family
