Shaun "Dracs" Jacobs URGENT surgery for neck & spine

Hi all,

I'm reaching out to you on behalf of our favourite Aussie Quakeworld streamer Shaun 'Dracs' Jacobs.

As many of you know, Dracs has been an integral part of our community, bringing his passion and energy to the game we all love, both as player and streamer. Now, he needs our help.

On a foggy night in 2022, amidst the difficulty of seeing through his windshield, Dracs collided into a stationary ute at around 90km/h. Remarkably, he walked away from this crash, but the true impact of his injuries emerged progressively over the next 18 months and have steadily worsened.

On the night of the crash, the police who attended the scene (and clearing him of any intoxication), recommended he get checked over at the hospital -- an offer he declined at the time; but now regrets.

Unfortunately, he has since been diagnosed with a completely collapsed disc at C6-7 in his neck. This condition is causing him severe pain, numbness in his left arm and fingers, and weakness in both arms. He has been enduring this pain and has struggled to sleep more than a few hours each night. Despite his suffering, he has been resilient, managing to pay for ongoing treatments and therapy out of pocket and while the good bloke he is, supporting both his mother and caring his 9-year-old son, Kyden.

Dracs urgently needs disc replacement surgery to prevent further nerve damage and spinal cord compression. The cost of the surgery, even after private health insurance, is into the thousands. This is a critical and time-sensitive matter, as his condition could lead to permanent issues if not addressed soon.

Unfortunately, the TAC (Transport Accident Commission) has denied coverage for his much-needed surgery due to the delayed onset of his symptoms, a situation exacerbated by the COVID lockdowns at the time of the accident. All legal avenues have been pursued without any luck.

I am setting up this GoFundMe to rally support for Dracs, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly towards his surgery and recovery. Dracs deserves a chance to return to a normal, pain-free life where he can fully engage with his son and care for his mother without the constant shadow of his injury.
