Sean Dolan’s fight against cancer
Donation protected
Hey friends,
Some of you know my brother Sean, those of you who are related, or are good friends of his may already know this story. I am reaching out to see if we can come around him and help support him as a community as he fights advanced Liposarcoma cancer.
Back in late June, my brother was exposed to a chemical at work, which in a few short days caused quite a bit of trauma to his lungs. Within a week or two of that, he was attending a memorial in New York, and his lung collapsed. He was hospitalized in New York while they figured out what was going on with his lung, it was determined that the collapsed lung was caused by the chemical he had been exposed to at his job. They put a chest tube in at that time, to drain fluid that had collected from the collapsed lung. Sean recovered for a while in New York, then returned to Oregon. A few months later he started having further trouble breathing. When he went to have his lungs checked they found a mass that started outside the ribs and followed the path of the chest tube. They completed a biopsy and found it to be cancer. By the time they found the tumor it had grown substantially, and was not operable. The doctors chose for Sean to start chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumor to where it would be operable. As of today he has had 5 treatments. He has had one scan that has shown that the tumor is shrinking slightly. His oncologist is happy with the progress. As of this time, it has been a struggle with workman’s comp, to get them to pay for the medical effects of the exposure, and Sean could really use our help making it through financially until either disability is approved or there’s a settlement with the original injury. I’m hoping you guys will come alongside our family and help support my brother in prayer for healing, peace and wisdom for the doctors. But also to just financially make ends meet for this season. Thank you all.
