Hello, My name is Sean Crawford. For many years I have been searching for a way to improve my fitness and mobility. For much of my adult life I have struggled with obesity which contributed to gradual physical decline. Unfortunately, I am now on disability with limited financial resources.

A few years ago, I experienced a cardiac scare and have since worked my way back to normal heart function. Now I find myself partially homebound due to pain in my knees that severely limits my ability to walk. My doctors have informed me that knee replacements are needed, but cannot be done until I lose more weight and improve my overall health through exercise and activity.

When I was younger I was very active, spending significant time outdoors for work and recreation. I have greatly missed those times and believe that a tool like the Grit Freedom Chair is a perfect way for me to maintain heart health while improving my mobility, activity levels and personal freedom. I have spoken with my orthopedic surgeon, cardiac nurse practitioner, internist, and orthopedic PA about the Freedom Chair. They all encouraged me to get one and begin a workout routine.

The Freedom Chair is an easy tool to use. It‘s design includes levers which propel the wheels forward through arm motion while sparing the knees. My upper body is very strong so I am confident that I could use it without problems. The fact that the chair is easy to transport and store makes it a flexible option for various activities. The chair works well on different surfaces and terrains so I could confidently navigate it to get a good workout. An added benefit would come with increased ability to engage socially with my grandchildren and friends.

I am on a fixed income and cannot afford the $3500 price of a Grit Freedom Chair without help. So I am reaching out to ask for contributions to aid in the purchase of a Grit Freedom Chair to help me achieve these goals.
