Sean & Burnsy’s Marathon For ANDYSMANCLUB
(Disclaimer a lot of the time when you see people raising money for charity being forced into your feed, it comes across contrived and self-aggrandising… we’re running a marathon first and foremost because we want to run a marathon!)
Leeds Marathon (Rob Burrow)
Sunday 11th May 2025
That being said when we took the time to think about it, the more it made sense to raise money and so this is why we chose ANDYSMANCLUB…

Sean & Burnsy’s Marathon For ANDYSMANCLUB
ANDYSMANCLUB are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. We want to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation. #ITSOKAYTOTALK’
I think mental health has always been a big thing at the level of the individual as we’re all in our own heads too much from time to time…
(I’m sat here writing this thinking of a million different ways I could be getting this misconstrued and come across in various ways but here goes!)
Whether that is that negative voice in your head telling you, you aren’t good enough or having the same reinforced back to you by somebody else!
I think the problem with lads is there’s no blueprint to how they should be or act, it only takes a look on TikTok (theguywiththelist) that shows over 814 different ‘icks’ to date that girls have submitted about men from “showering bare foot” to “getting hit by a car” and fair enough some of them are quite funny!
That being said I do think being perpetually told you aren’t worthy as a fella if you aren’t earning 6 figures or driving the 25 plate BMW is only the tip of the iceberg and the standards and expectations inflicted by society can be confusing for young men and boys who are trying to navigate those expectations without being dragged into the bottomless pit of nihilism where they feel that useless, helpless and alone that they think the only good thing left to do is to take their life.
We need to have someone or something to aim for, we need better role models and better goals to reach, we need people who encourage the best in us, we need people to be told it’s necessary to be a forthright force stepping forwards into the world irrespective of the struggles they may encounter….
Most importantly we need you to know, it’s okay to talk.
Thanks for all the support, any donations will be hugely appreciated
