Hi! I’m Sean’s mom, Genny. We are utilizing this amazing platform to help cover some medical and family expenses for the Rock family while Sean is out of work due to chemo treatments. Also to spread testicular cancer awareness. Thank you in advance for loving up on our son and helping their family during this challenging time. In Sean’s words:
January was one of those months that seems like a blur. Payton and I welcomed our beautiful daughter Hazel into this world, and that alone was the happiest and proudest moment of my life. Seeing how strong my wife is how amazing childbirth is and being surrounded by an amazing support system was life-changing. The love that I have for Payton have grown exponentially and I am nothing short of infatuated and wrapped around my little girls fingers. Fast forward just 15 days after we brought her home, I knew that something was wrong with my body. I had been experiencing some lower back pain, and pain in my groin. So after checking myself and scheduling a doctors appointment, what I thought was going to be a routine check up, turned into unexpected news. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and had to have one removed 24 hours after we found a tumor. We’ve kept it under wraps for a long time just keeping it between family and close friends and we were told that once the tumor was removed, there was a 85 to 90% chance that we would never have to deal with it again. last Friday I had my four month postop CT scan and it seems like the world came crashing down once again. The cancer had traveled to my left retroperitoneal (The way it was explained to us is it’s basically the lining behind my organs on the left side and the tumor is located below my left kidney) and has progressed to stage two and as of June I will undergo three rounds of chemotherapy. Each round last 21 days and I’ll be on a five, eight, thirteen schedule, which is a pretty aggressive chemo causing me to not be able to work. But my doctors are very confident that once I have this done we will have same percentage of no recurrence. They say that God moves in mysterious ways, and sometimes we aren’t meant to understand the plan and the vision that he has for our lives. But I have faith that He is with me, with my family, and the support system that we have. I’m ready for this next season of life to get the opportunity to grow closer to God, and build my relationship with him. I’m not afraid because there’s no room for fear in my heart. Isaiah 41:8-10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
I deeply appreciate the prayers and support that we have already received and just ask that you continue to pray for the upcoming months as they will be taxing but worth it. God is a good God
