Leading Seaman Combat Systems Operator Riley Surendra-Nicholas of HMAS Perth is gearing up for an important race to raise crucial funds for Kids with Brain Cancer.
We request your support of HMAS Perth’s Ships Charity, the Pirate Ship Foundation, as Riley competes in the Ironman Western Australia event, part of the Asia-Pacific Championship, on December 1, 2024, in Busselton, Western Australia.
Riley will take on all three demanding legs of the Ironman: a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km cycle, and a 42.2 km run. He is fiercely determined to qualify for the 2025 VinFast Ironman World Championships in Nice, France in late 2025.
In 2024 whilst on board HMAS Perth, Riley has demonstrated exceptional commitment, completing over six months at sea, including two deployments, all while preparing for this monumental challenge. As a recognised Australian Defence Force Elite Athlete, his dedication and sacrifice are commendable.
We call on you to support Riley in reaching his ambitious target of raising $3,000 for the Pirate Ship Foundation, which assists those in dire need. Stand strong with Riley! The HMAS Perth Ships Company and our community are united behind him.
