Since opening Sea Dogs Margate six months ago, we've unexpectedly found ourselves caring for several abandoned dogs. In just a short time, four dogs have been left behind—sometimes after a scheduled care session, other times by a knock on our door with someone handing over a lead and explaining they can no longer keep their dog. With local rescue centers at full capacity, it's incredibly difficult to turn away a distressed owner and their equally stressed dog. While we never set out to become a rescue service, we always try to do what’s best for the dogs that come to us. This means covering the costs of veterinary check-ups, food, grooming, and other essentials—expenses that add up quickly and are starting to put a strain on our small business. We’re reaching out for support to help cover these costs should similar situations arise in the future.
