Hello everyone! My name is Blake McCormick. I grew up in the Lewis Clark Valley in the Northern part of Idaho/Western Washington. I've always loved the outdoors. From fishing, to target shooting, bonfires, muddin' and even just the casual trek through the woods. I'm very patriotic! RT 66 history intrigues me. Anything red white and blue, and old Americana is awesome in my book! I've always been a hard worker. It was rare that someone had a better work ethic than I had. Well, on June 9th of 2018, I dove into a pool and broke my neck, leaving me paralyzed from the top of my ribcage down. I broke the C6 vertebrae, and fractured the C7. The doctors told me that I only had a 25% chance of walking again. The accident was close to leaving me a quadrapalegic. I've only got about 25% usage of my hands as well. I've been dealing with bad spasms and blood pressure dropping since day 1 of recovery. It's been a long, rough road but I try to stay positive and take it one day at a time. I have found out that there is one thing out there that would help me out a ton..
I'm in need of a wheelchair with tracks or 4x4. Everywhere I go, that's not on concrete or pavement, my chair likes to get stuck. It's extremely embarrassing and frustrating to have to be pushed out by people. One of my favorite places to be, is in the forest. And I'm very limited to where I can go. It's starting to take it's toll on my mental health as well. Not being able to go to events because it's on grass or gravel.. I'm to my breaking point. Which is why I'm reaching out to the GoFundMe community. This chair would help me tremendously. Not only with just the mobility part, but my mental state of mind! I have found one that would fit my lifestyle. I know it's a lot to ask for, but I need about $20,000 for the chair..
Thank you everyone for at least just reading this!
