Help Our Dad Fight Throat Cancer

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out on behalf of our dad, a hardworking blue-collar man who was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. He’s the kind of person who has always put others first, working long hours, never complaining, and doing whatever it took to provide for our family. Now he’s facing one of the biggest challenges of his life, and he needs our help.

Due to the nature of his job, he doesn’t receive any medical benefits or paid leave, which means he’s now forced to cover all of his hospital bills, treatment costs, and daily living expenses completely out of pocket. We’re very grateful Gbmc is covering 50% of his surgery but he is responsible for the other 50% of his bills. With surgery already scheduled and the strong likelihood of chemotherapy and radiation to follow, the financial burden is quickly becoming overwhelming.

While he’s doing everything he can to stay strong and fight this disease, the stress of mounting medical bills is taking its toll. He’ll be out of work for a while as he recovers, and without an income, even basic expenses like rent, utilities, and groceries are hard to manage, let alone the thousands of dollars in medical costs he’ll owe.
