Edgar es más que un panadero; es un hombre de bondad infinita. Desde hace más de 20 años, con sus manos llenas de harina, no solo amasa pan artesanalmente, sino también sueños: los de su familia en Venezuela, a la que sostiene con muchísimo esfuerzo y amor. Para mí, Edgar es un padre y un guía que me apoyó en mis estudios. Así como a mí, Edgar ha ayudado a cambiar la vida de muchas personas, que incluso pudieron migrar legalmente a otros países, y nunca pidió nada a cambio.

Hoy, ese hombre humilde que siempre da todo por los demás enfrenta una prueba desgarradora: lleva 11 años trabajando legalmente en Panamá y en solo un mes, en octubre de este año, su actual permiso de trabajo vencerá, y con él, perderá su derecho a quedarse en el país que ha sido su hogar durante más de una década. En todo este tiempo, Edgar ha cumplido de manera puntual, honesta y legal con todo lo establecido para vivir en Panamá, desde plazos y tasas, con arduos y constantes esfuerzos por mantenerse económicamente día tras día.

Edgar optará a la Cedula de Identidad panameña de tipo E. Sin esta cédula, Edgar podría perderlo todo: su hogar, su estabilidad y la posibilidad de reunirse algún día con su familia. Once años de trabajo honesto, de madrugadas y trasnochos en el horno, de sonrisas compartidas con quienes lo rodean, podrían desvanecerse. Pero no podemos permitirlo. Edgar no merece que le den la espalda, no después de haber dado tanto.

Aunque Edgar ha ahorrado con sacrificio, debido a que debe mantener a su familia en Venezuela, no ha podido reunir la cantidad de dinero suficiente: ha reunido apenas alrededor del 30% de los €3,000 que necesita para obtener su cédula de identidad panameña tipo E, lo que incluye tasas, documentaciones y trámites. Dicha cédula es un documento que no solo le permitirá seguir trabajando, sino que le abrirá la puerta a un futuro más seguro, estable y digno.

Cada dólar cuenta para alcanzar la meta. Por eso he elaborado esta campaña para recaudar los €2000 que le faltan para cubrir los costos de abogados y trámites. Sólo pedimos lo necesario para que Edgar pueda seguir adelante, él es la prueba de que la bondad, y el trabajo duro y honesto pueden cambiar vidas. Ahora, es nuestro turno de cambiar y mejorar la suya.

Demostremos que Edgar no está solo. Que su fe en que “los buenos somos más” no es en vano. Devolvamos la esperanza a un hombre que nunca dejó de darla. Sé ese milagro que mantendrá a Edgar luchando no sólo por su futuro sino el de muchos otros.

Time is running out for Edgar; let's support him

Edgar is more than a baker; he is a man of infinite kindness. With his hands covered in flour, he doesn't only kneads bread by his hands, but also dreams: those of his family in Venezuela, whom he supports with great effort and love. For me, Edgar is a father and a guide who supported me in my studies. Just like me, Edgar has helped change the lives of many people, who were even able to migrate legally to other countries, and he never asked for anything in return.

Today, this humble man who always gives his all for others faces a heartbreaking ordeal: he has been working legally in Panama for 11 years, and in just one month, in October of this year, his current work permit will expire, and with it, he will lose his right to stay in the country that has been his home for more than a decade. Throughout this time, Edgar has complied punctually, honestly, and legally with all the requirements for living in Panama, from deadlines and fees to arduous and constant efforts to support himself financially day after day.

Edgar will apply for a Panamanian Type E Identity Card. Without this card, Edgar could lose everything: his home, his stability, and the possibility of one day reuniting with his family. Eleven years of honest work, of early mornings and late nights in the oven, of smiles shared with those around him, could vanish. But we cannot allow that to happen. Edgar does not deserve to be turned away, not after having given so much.

Although Edgar has saved money through sacrifice, because he has to support his family in Venezuela, he has not been able to raise enough money: he has only managed to save around 30% of the €3,000 he needs to obtain his Panamanian type E identity card, which includes fees, documentation, and paperwork. This card is a document that will not only allow him to continue working, but will also open the door to a more secure, stable, and dignified future.

Every dollar counts toward reaching the goal. That is why I have created this campaign to raise the €2,000 he needs to cover the costs of lawyers and paperwork. We are only asking for what is necessary for Edgar to move forward. He is proof that kindness and hard, honest work can change lives. Now it is our turn to change and improve his.

Let's show Edgar that he is not alone. That his faith in “the good guys outnumber the bad guys” is not in vain. Let's give hope back to a man who never stopped giving it. Be that miracle that will keep Edgar fighting not only for his future but for the future of many others.
