In early November this year I will be running the New York City Marathon in aid of Team for kids .

Sports and physical activity has played such an important part in my life from such a young age (if you know me well you’ll know my life revolves around it ! ) Not only has it helped my physical and mental health but I’ve also learnt many life skills and built confidence, as well as many friendships all through activity, and by aiming to become a PE teacher I hope to promote Physical activity to as many young people as I can.

However, my reach is limited and not all children around the world have this easy access to receive all the benefits being physically active has to offer.

Team for Kids is a global charity that’s mission is to give every child, regardless of background, access to fitness, confidence, and healthy habits that last a lifetime.

Team for Kids provides programs in schools and communities across the world that are designed to help kids develop not just fitness, but also resilience, teamwork, and self-belief skills that matter everywhere in the world. Every donation goes toward creating safe, inclusive spaces where children can experience the joy of sport, build healthy lifestyles, and unlock their potential. While the organization began in New York, its vision is global.

Being Physically active should be a universal right, not a privilege.

Training is underway and I can’t wait to get the opportunity to run in such a great event for an even greater charity!
